
Team 211 tells sight word stories
Students participated in a 3 day long Li’l Stories Lab, where they collaborated, created, captured, and shared stories. They had a lot of fun practicing sight words in the context of story creation. Students actively discussed and created visual stories and practiced critical thinking, communication and collaborating with friends. Here are Team 211’s stories from May of 2017:









Li’l Stories Lab: Sight Word Stories
Subject: Reading Workshop, Writing
Target Skills: Sight Words acquisition, story development
Goals: Students will engage in authentic sight word practice through developing a story sequence utilizing sight words or high frequency words given.
Outcome: Visual storyboard, oral presentation, story video
Lab Topic: The lab focuses on sight words studied in class.
Extension: Students turn their visual/oral stories into a written narrative.
