Team 211 tells stories inspired by The Tiny Seed and other stories by Eric Carle

Students participated in a 6 week long Li’l Stories Lab, where they collaborated, created, captured, and shared stories. They had a lot of fun retelling The Tiny Seed, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, or The Greedy Python by Eric Carle and creating original stories based on the characters of their book. Students captured their stories using our Li’l Stories app and shared their stories with their friends. Students learned about story elements and sequencing, practiced critical thinking, communication and collaborating with friends. Here are Team 211’s stories from October and November of 2016:

Target Skills: Retell (Oral and Writing), Sequencing, Original Piece-Text Innovation
Goals: Students will sequence and retell main events from the book The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle; Students will understand the general plant cycle and factors that influence growth. Students will sequence an original story, utilizing multiple characters and other story elements.
Outcome: Visual storyboard, oral presentation, story video
Lab Topic: The lab can be structured around any book read in class.
Extension: Students turn their visual/oral stories into a written narrative.
