For Grades K to 4: The Story Center Kit is a set of activities that students can complete independently during Morning Work, Free Play or Choice Time. Activities allow students to practice new vocabulary, understand story structure, and develop digital literacy.

Activity 1: Digital Literacy, Grade K to 4: This activity allows students to digitally capture their work and share online through the Li’l Stories App.
Activity 2: Weekend News, Grade K to 2: This activity utilizes the custom Li’l Stories storyboard in order for students to retell their Weekend News.
Activity 3: Story Creation, Grade K to 4: This activity encourages students to work in small groups in creating original fiction stories with the guidance of the various Li’l Stories materials—storyboards, idea stickers, fact cards, and question cards.
Activity 4: Sight Words Practice, Grade K to 4: This activity provides an informal group setting in which students can acquire and practice new sight words or high frequency words with the use of custom Li’l Stories materials—storyboard, sight words cards, question cards.

LI’L STORIES IDEA CARDS AND STICKERS: FICTION, SIGHT WORDS
The Fiction set encompasses general inspirations for fiction stories. It consists of 6 characters and 6 settings. The Sight Words set includes a selection of sight words ranging from pre-primer up to Grade 3 high frequency words, with 20 words for each level.

INSTRUCTIONS
• Download Story Center Kit
• Print teacher’s guide, storyboards and curriculum map on 11” by 17” sheets of paper.
• Print the 2″ by 2″ stickers on an Avery White Square Labels (#22806) sheet.
• Print content cards on 8 1/2” by 11” sheets of paper, fold along the dashed line and laminate.
• Print posters on 8 1/2” by 11” sheets of paper and laminate and/or hang on the wall.
• Use 2″ by 2″ Post-its if you’d like students to be able to edit their stories.
